Women lawyers lag nearly ten oer cent behind banks in the UK - with only 19 per cent of partners being female in the UK top 20, compared to 28 per cent of senior bankers at the Lloyds Banking Group. The statistics, based on research at The Lawyer, are published in The Financial Times. Meanwhile, in the US, only four per cent of the top 200 law firms have a female managing partner in place, according to research from the US National Association of Women Lawyers.
