Research conducted by the Law Society of England and Wales also shows that nearly half (45 per cent) of lawyers continue to go to work even when they believe they are sick enough to stay at home. An average of 6.6 days of sick leave was taken by lawyers in the UK, according to the research, ‘Solicitors’ health and well-being’.  Nearly all (95 per cent) of lawyers report being stressed, usually because of the workload and client expectation, and 16 per cent say the stress is at a ‘severe’ or ‘extreme’ level.
