The news comes as the $1 billlion mereger formally got underway on May 1 and now the sixth largest law firm in the UK has revealed that its expanded 7,500-strong team can embrace the smart casual approach to office attire – including trainers and T-shirts.

While the three London law firms officially merged last week, creating the sixth biggest legal practice in the world by head count and generating more than €1 billion in annual revenue, they first announced the agreement back in the autumn of 2016. The merged entity will boast more than 1,000 partners and 7,500 employees in 65 offices across close to 40 countries – thought to be the world’s sixth largest by headcount. Representatives of the three firms said last October that the newly combined business would have a turnover in Britain of some £450 million and global revenue of more than €1.2 billion.
The suits
The decision to go for casual wear in the office followed the lead by Olswang. With a number of creative clients, Olswang had already opted to leave the suits at home. CMS, with its banking clientele, had been more formal but following the merger, has opted for more casual wear, The Telegraph reported.
