Luxury elite join forces in New York for first summit

A galaxy of luxury star brand general counsel are heading for New York to talk law, tech, cyber and sustainability at the inaugural Luxury Law Summit in the city.

US luxury lawyers are set to converge on New York next week for the inaugural Luxury Law Summit in the city. Sharing insights on some of luxury's most challenging issues, a host of companies are attending the event which features general counsel, CEOs and founders of some of the sector's most iconic brands including Kering, Tapestry, Chanel, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, LVMH, Luxottica, Hermes, Mandarin Oriental, Barneys New York, Tommy Hilfiger, Coty, Michael Kors, PVH, Estee Lauder, Marc Jacobs and Prada.

Managing luxury legal departments

Management issues are also on the agenda. With change and disruption impacting legal departments, Karl Chapman of EY Riverview Law, will shed some thoughts on how luxury legal departments need to find new ways of managing risk whilst cyber expert Alex Urbelis will share his views on the dangers of cyber for luxury brands and how to avert reputational issues for the brand. 

Hottest brands

Meanwhile the general counsel of the Lyst designated hottest brand in the world, Off-White, Dan Bellizo, will talk about the difficult legal challenges on its journey - from counterfeiting, IP Enforcement, collaborations and license deals with Nike's brand protection guru Joe Pallett and Epstein Drangel experts Jason Drangel and Ashly Sands.
