Magento names Aparna Bawa as general counsel

Magento Commerce, the worldwide leader in cloud digital commerce innovation, has appointed Aparna Bawa as Senior Vice President, General Counsel.

Miss Bawa joins the Magento executive team and brings extensive experience in corporate law and building sustainable infrastructure to support growth and global expansion. ‘I'm thrilled to welcome Aparna to the Magento executive leadership team,’ said Mark Lavelle, CEO of Magento. ‘Her knowledge and depth of experience will be critical to advancing our next chapter for Magento. Joins from Nimble Storage

Miss Bawa joins Magento from Nimble Storage, where she served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and helped take the company public in 2013. She later helped with the sale of the company to Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2017. Previously, she led legal and corporate development functions for Inphi Corp. Miss Bawa began her career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank, where she executed multiple IPO and M&A transactions for technology company clients. She was also a corporate and securities attorney for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Follows a number of new hires

Her appointment comes on the heels of a number of strong hires, including Megan Boyer, Vice President, Professional Services, who joined from Trillium Software, Ryan Quaye, Vice President, Global Channel Sales, who joined from Accenture and Ryan Murden, head of business development, who joined from Oracle and Bronto. In addition, Magento has grown its Asia Pacific team with the addition of Ian Kinsella, head of sales, Asia Pacific, who joined from SAP Hybris and Dene Schonknecht, director of channel sales for the region, who joined from Oracle Singapore.
