Microsoft GC vows to protect clients

Microsoft general counsel Brad Smith has promised to stand out against any possible US government attempts to seize or spy on the data of its clients.

Mr Smith told Reuters: 'We are committing contractually to not turning it over without litigating that issue.' He was commenting on reports about the US security agencies seizing data under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. He said that the company had never given away such information under the act.
