Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has offered a voluntary severance package to its legal secretaries as it prepares to move offices next year. The firm says it is 'transitioning to a team-based legal support staff model' and is offering terms which include an incentive payment, severance commensurate with years of service and paid health benefits. It is the latest law firm to restructure its back office as firms streamline services and up their use of technology. Hogan Lovells recently offered its London legal secretaries a voluntary package. Pinsents and BLM also moved to reduce secretarial support.
