Morgan Lewis is to become a global giant with nearly 2,000 lawyers in 28 offices - but its growth through its relationship with Boston-based Bingham McCutchen will be by assuming 227 partners rather than by merger. A question mark hangs over the future of the parts of Bingham that are not being transferred over to Morgan Lewis. Bingham is listed as having 298 partners in total in the Global 100 - that is 71 partners more than the number being taken on by Morgan Lewis.
