Manchester-based solicitor Kid Harwood is bringing the LawBid platform to the UK next month after a successful launch in the United States. LawBid challenges lawyers to offer services to clients at the most reasonable price possible by asking them to ‘bid’ for client work listed on the web-based platform. Clients are then able to view ratings and reviews for each bidder and select the most competitively priced solicitor available. When clients upload cases, the LawBid automatically informs all registered law firms and solicitors that match the client’s search parameters, such as location and area of expertise. The platform will be funded by a tiered monthly subscription system ranging from £495 for ten cases per month down to a free-of-charge service for one case per month. ‘It saves a lot of time for clients and a lot of money for firms already spending large amounts on digital campaigns,’ said Mr Harwood. The platform aims to have between 15,000 and 20,000 clients by the end of this year.
