Olswang's Berlin office plans mass move and starts talks with MoFo and others

Freshfields and Morrison & Foerster are believed to be among the firms with which the 50-strong team at Olswang has begun negotiations - in preparation for a mass move after agreeing to leave the UK-based international firm.

In contrast to initial reports that the office might turn into a boutique, the plan appears to be to join a leading international practice. The lawyers are in talks with several law firms, according to Legal Business. Freshfields and MoFo are in the same building as the Olswang group - but the firms have not confirmed the talks nor made any comment.

Unrest in London

The mass departure of the Berlin office is said to relate to 'unrest stemming from the London office' and, most particularly, to the unexpecture exit of David Stewart as managing partner in October, according to Legal Business
