Pinsent Masons has elevated 24 lawyers to partner in its latest promotions round, a slight increase on its 2024 intake.

This year’s cohort is two up on last year when 22 made the cut. Women accounted for 54% of this year’s group, up from 50% in 2024 and 44% the year before. The partners will take up their new roles on 1 May.

A majority of the promotions (18) were made across Pinsents’ UK offices, with three in mainland Europe (Netherlands, Germany and France) and three in Asia Pacific (two in Australia and one in China). Lawyers either in the energy and/or infrastructure and real estate departments saw the most promotions with six exclusively in energy, two exclusively in infrastructure and real estate and five across both.

The newly minted energy partners include Cameron Reid, Claire Brodrick, Jamie Robson, Francesca Drake and Sarah Munro in the UK and Eliza Danby in Australia. Claire Mirfin and David Greenwood in the UK are based in the infrastructure and real estate practices, while Chris Owens, Joanne Falencka and Elizabeth Hardwood in the UK, Leanne Olden in Australia and Cecilia Hu in China straddle both. UK-based Richard Cantrell also straddles financial services and infrastructure and real estate.

Aside from Cantrell, the financial services practice saw five promotions, all of which were in the UK. There were also five lawyers promoted in the firm’s technology, science and industry practice, including Arjan Reijns in the Netherlands, Attila Bangha-Szabo in Germany and Virginia De Freitas in France.

The firm said the promotions will enhance its cross-border capabilities and its coverage in the energy transition space.

Andrew Masraf, Pinsents’ senior partner, said: “The depth of talent and breadth of expertise in our newly promoted partner cohort show that we are committed to growing our global reach and technical skillsets. Every year I’m impressed by the commitment and commerciality within our business and these qualities will be essential as we unlock our next chapter of growth.”

Masraf added that women making up more than half of the cohort reflected the firm’s efforts to ensure any barriers to female progression are mitigated and that becoming a partner is possible for all who want to pursue it.
