Corporate partner Daniella Zussa and construction disputes partner Junaid Banoobhai are joining UK-headquartered firm Pinsent Masons alongside one senior associate and five associates. The hire comes in preparation for the launch of Pinsents’ own office in the South African business hub. The latest eight-strong team is following in the footsteps of former Bowmans construction partners Rob Morson and Shane Voigt, both of whom have made the switch to Pinsents ahead of the launch.
Infrastructure focus
So far, Pinsents’ preparatory efforts in South Africa have focused on amassing lawyers with experience servicing clients in the infrastructure sector. Senior partner Richard Foley commented: ‘Our intention in Africa is to build something markedly different to what already exists in the market.’ The Johannesburg office will be Pinsents’ first on the African continent.
