In practical terms, the platform lets startups and investors complete all the legals for their funding round, which usually take months, in a matter of days and slashed the costs of legal fees.
Reduce legal fees
Once all investors have ‘clicked-to-sign’, the funding round is complete and all details are filed ready for the next round. It has opened the possibility for a ‘continuous funding’ model where investors can be seamlessly added to a company at any time. With startup funding round legal fees typically costing between £2,000 and £5,000, for both sides, SeedLegals has entered the market at £1,600 to complete a round, in efforts to reduce the cost to get funded in the UK.
Entrepreneurial track record
The development of Seedlegals was a joint effort between Anthony Rose, serial entrepreneur and creator of BBC iPlayer and Laurent Laffy, career VC and serial angel investor, who was also the first investor in Lastminute.com.
US showcase
Following the win SeedLegals is invited to showcase its company to the US market at the Top 100 North America event in June and later compete internationally for the Top 100 Global in November.
