Mr Kon’s resignation comes several months after he announced in September his decision to step down from leadership of the firm’s EUME arm. At the time, the legacy SJ Berwin lawyer flagged his intention to return to fee-earning work after retiring from the firm’s leadership. In the aftermath of the firm’s recent turmoil, he has now confirmed that he will be resigning. The bulk of KWM’s former EUME leaders have already locked-in transfers to rival firms – among them, former EUME head William Boss, who is heading to Addleshaw Goddard, and former managing partner Rob Day, who is joining Proskauer Rose. However, Mr Kon has indicated that his resignation from KWM will also mark his retirement from practice.
