The outpost in the Estonian capital opened at the beginning of this month and will be led by two partners, Siim Mägi and Indrek Veso. The first has been poached from local practice Glikman & Partners, while the latter mergers his existing practice with Sweden-based Magnusson.
Mr Veso is a corporate and commercial lawyer, specialising in dispute resolution, tax, mergers and acquisitions and administrative law. Mr Mägi also focuses on corporate and commercial work, with an emphasis on real estate and M&A. Magnusson’s senior partner Per Magnusson said the firm’s expansion ‘brings us to the next level in our pan- regional strategy. Our strategy is to cover all the countries around the Baltic Sea offering integrated seamless service’.
Nonetheless, the Baltic Sea region is still a small market, a point not lost on Mr Magnusson. ‘For other international law firms, a presence in the Baltic States may not make sense, but in view of our strategy it is vital for us to be there’.
