The top British law firms are lagging behind their US counterparts, according to the latest American Lawyer ranking. Of the top Magic Circle firms, only Allen & Overy revealed positive revenue growth, the magazine said. Clifford Chance, Freshfields, Linklaters and Slaughter & May all reportedly experienced declines in gross revenue. Allen & Overy had 2.84 per cent growth, more than the average growth rate of the Am Law Global 100.
