US background checking business Asurint has hired Vince Pascarella as general counsel, replacing Kelly Uebel who is leaving to launch her own consulting practice.
Pascarella joins from InformData, where he was chief legal and compliance officer. He brings almost three decades of experience providing legal counsel to growth-orientated consumer data companies.
At Asurint, he will lead legal strategy, compliance and risk management. He currently also serves as founding chair of the Consumer Data Industry Association’s Background Screening Committee.
Cleveland-based Asurint provides background screening services to employers, landlords and government.

Pascarella arrives after 14 years at InformData, including its predecessor company Wholesale Screening Solutions, which merged with SJV to form InformData in 2022. Prior to that he held a range of business development and sales roles at background checking-related businesses, having spent eight years as GC at First Advantage and its predecessor companies before that.

Uebel leaves Asurint after almost nine years, having previously been GC at Info Cubic, legal counsel for global regulatory affairs at First Advantage, compliance officer at Verifications and in-house attorney at Kroll Ontrack.
In other business services-related moves, back in November US moving and relocation services company Sirva Worldwide hired Lauren Aste from business travel company CWT as CLO, replacing GC Jeff Margolis.
Meanwhile back in July 2024, US home and workplace security business Allegion hired Stacy Cozad as GC from Ingevity, replacing Jeff Braun who was retiring at the end of 2024.
And in June of that year, US security business Allied Universal hired Loretta Cecil as global GC from Change Healthcare, replacing David Buckman who was also retiring.
