US law firm revenue growth predicted for 2014

A Wells Fargo survey of 115 law firms concludes that revenues will grow at 3.1 per cent this year, up from 2.2 per cent growth in 2013.

Profits per partner are forecast to increase by 2.3 per cent . The 115 firms polled include 65 from the country's top 200. More law firms are pruning out partners seen as being unproductive, according to Wells Fargo. Mary Ashenbrenner, a director in the bank's special legal group, said: 'I can tell when I look at the net income numbers that they dealt with this issue.  If revenue was up by 6 percent, they wouldn’t need to do this. But I am pleased to see these leaders prudently and efficiently managing their firms.' Source: Philadelphia Business Journal
