Vietnam lawyers enter political row with China
The Vietnam Lawyers' Association is entering one of the most troubled international disputes in the world by supporting its government against China.

It will draw up the ‘necessary legal documents to file a petition against China’s provocations in the East Sea’. It had already issued a statement opposing the Chinese drilling of an oil rig ‘inside Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf’. It is now asking China to respect international law and to stop taking action which, it says, could escalate tensions and even threaten security in the area. Source: VietnamNet
