Withers loses £1.6m negligence case but plans appeal

A High Court judge in London ordered Withers to pay £1.6m in damages when he held that an associate lawyer had 'misremembered' his instructions from a client.

The instructions related to the drawing up of a partnership agreement for Wellesley Partners. Mr Justice upheld this one claim only against the firm, and not three others that had been made. Withers is planning to appeal to take the case to the Court of Appeal. Source: The Lawyer
