Norton Rose agrees alliances in Uganda and Zimbabwe

Norton Rose Fulbright has entered into a strategic alliance with firms in East Africa and Zimbabwe.

Norton Rose Fulbright has gone into an alliance with a Zimbabwe law firm Malgorzata Drewniak

Norton Rose Fulbright has signed up one of the largest legal practices in Zimbabwe and a top tier Ugandan firm.  Gill, Godlonton & Gerrans and  Shonubi Musoke & Co Advocates will form part of Norton Rose's strategic alliance. The connections go back between Norton Rose and the two firms for several years - 15 years with Shonubi and 20 years with Gill Godlonton. Peter Martyr, global chief executive of Norton Rose, said: 'Africa is a key hub for our clients, and expanding across the region is of great importance to us. We see immediate opportunities in Africa in particular across energy and infrastructure, mining and commodities. Investment into other sectors is also gaining pace, particularly in financial institutions, technology and agriculture.'

Based in the capitals
