Canada helps corporate counsel on ethics

The Canadian Association of Corporate Counsel has updated its ethics and compliance portal.

Corporate counsel who want access to materials on ethics and compliance can turn to an updated portal of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in Canada. The overhauled site is aiming to act as a comprehensive resource for in-house lawyers on global and cross-jurisdictional legal tools in these areas. The tools offered can also be used to train staff and help maintain standards. 

Raising the IQ of in-house counsel

There are 30 different sets of 'bundles' covering areas including data privacy and general business. James Merklinger, vice president and general counsel of ACC told CorpCounsel.com: 'The way I look at it is all members are very capable of designing presentations on these topics if they had all the time in the world that they wanted, but they don’t have the time….It’s amazing how many regulations are being issued on a weekly basis..We’re going to try and raise the IQ of in-house counsel.'
