The Swiss team consists of two partners - including managing partner Ricardo Ugarte - and three associates. A statement from the firm says that existing clients will be served by those partners but from different locations. The firm said it had 'decided to consolidate its European international arbitration resources into its London and Paris offices'. At the moment, Winston & Strawn has 18 offices, including the Geneva base.

The firm's website states: 'For the past 20 years, the Winston & Strawn Geneva office has served as one of the hubs of the firm’s international arbitration practice...'. Mr Ugarte's practice is focused on 'international arbitration, international litigation and complex commercial litigation', according to the firm. Fellow Geneva partner Franz Stirnimann Fuentes has a practice based around 'international arbitration and litigation as well as Swiss commercial law', says the firm. Source: Winston & Strawn
