Media company XO Group has appointed Jeffrey Yin as general counsel, reporting to CEO Mike Steib and serving on XO Group's executive team. Mr Yin brings to XO Group nearly 20 years of experience advising a diverse portfolio of businesses ranging from emerging growth startups to large public companies. Most recently, he served as the general counsel of The Alberleen Group, a boutique investment bank and family office. He previously served as the chief compliance officer and general counsel of Medallion Financial, a publicly traded specialty finance business. Mr Yin's law firm experience includes Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, in the business and technology groups.

Private equity company Inflexion has hired its first general counsel, ex-Slaughter and May lawyer Andrew Stevens. Mr Stevens will be responsible for the legal function and he oversees the firm’s range of transactional and corporate legal, governance and compliance obligations. He started his legal career at Slaughter and May, where he spent almost six years advising a broad range of corporate and fund clients on a variety of acquisitions, disposals and general corporate finance matters. He then moved to Och-Ziff Management Europe, where he was legal counsel primarily responsible for European private equity and private debt investments. Mr Stevens also spent time as vice president at HPS Investment Partners, where he worked on complex and heavily structured private equity investments.

Technology company ScanSource has announced that Matthew Dean is joining the company as vice president and general counsel. Mr Dean will lead the worldwide corporate legal department and is responsible for all legal aspects of the Company, including providing legal counsel to the board of directors, CEO, and other global senior leadership on behalf of the Company. He will report to CEO Mike Baur. Prior to joining ScanSource, Mr Dean served as GC and corporate secretary for Vertiv Group Corporation, formerly Emerson Network Power, and LANDesk Software, where he was responsible for global legal, trade and compliance teams across the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific. During his tenure, he completed multiple acquisitions and operational improvements, including the optimisation of LANDesk’s channel programme to provide added incentives for reseller investments. While at Vertiv Group, Mr Dean also managed corporate governance, served as chair of the ethics committee, reduced controllable legal costs and implemented cost- and time-saving legal processes. 

Powersport company Polaris Industries announced that Lucy Clark Dougherty will join Polaris as senior vice president, general counsel, compliance officer and corporate secretary, reporting to chairman and CEO Scott Wine. She will also serve as president of the Polaris Foundation. Throughout her twenty-year career, Ms Clark Dougherty has provided strategic counsel and managed complex legal operations across various sectors and industries. She joins Polaris from General Motors, where she most recently served as deputy general counsel for Global Markets, Autonomous Vehicles and Transportation as a Service. During her eight years with the company, Ms Clark Dougherty provided legal oversight and supporting General Motor’s global and domestic growth strategies. Before joining General Motors in 2010, Clark Dougherty founded her own consulting group, advising clients on global financial regulatory and anti-corruption issues. 

Timothy Nieman has been named general counsel for Codorus Valley Bancorp, its banking subsidiary PeoplesBank and other related subsidiaries. Mr Nieman has over 25 years of legal experience, including commercial litigation, banking litigation and business counseling. He was most recently a partner in the Harrisburg law firm, Rhoads & Sinon. Codorus Valley Bancorp is the largest independent financial services holding company headquartered in York, Pennsylvania.
