The research by technology company InfoTrack revealed that corporate counsel were reducing legal spend and improving performances. They are also has looking beyond the mid-tier/top-tier distinction when briefing law firms - two in three said they generally outsourced to mid-tier law firms. Four per cent preferred NewLaw firms whilst 32 per cent briefed only global and top-tier firms. Technology was also high on the agenda with 52 per cent saying technology was their main strategy for producivity. The survey, reported in Lawyers Weekly, researched 138 in-house lawyers.
