Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
Jason Murakami, 45, and Ron Behlau, 34, appeared in the court on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and of carrying out transactions to get round reporting requirements. In particular, they stand accused of 'structuring' - that is depositing cash in sums smaller than A$10,000, the threshold at which deposits are reported to the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre.
Bail given
The Crime and Corruption Commission alleges that the deposits were made in this way in order to help clients avoid the confiscation of funds. Neither lawyer entered a plea. They were given bail and return to the court on 9 March. Mr Murakami faces six counts altogether. Mr Behlau faces two. Source: Sky News
