Bryan Cave further expands German IP team

Bryan Cave has expanded its German IP practice with IP and IT lawyer Dominik Weiss who joins as counsel, following hot on the heels of the arrival of trademark law specialist Dr Andreas Hentschel who also joined the Hamburg office earlier this year.

In addition to Dr Andreas Hentschel, Partner Kirsten Grinth and two associates recently joined Bryan Cave to work in the firm’s transaction practice in Frankfurt. Mr Weiss joins Bryan Cave from Bock Legal in Frankfurt where he was an associate partner.  ‘Intellectual property and IT issues play an increasingly important role in corporate transactions. Dominik is a very experienced counsel who will lead and coordinate the IP team in Germany,’ said Exhart Budelmann, managing partner of the Hamburg office. ‘He will also work closely with our international IP practice in the US, Europe and Asia.’

National and international experience

Mr Weiss advises both national and international companies of all sizes on the effective enforcement of their rights and he has extensive court experience in trademark and unfair competition law, design rights protection and trademarks.  He also represents clients in various proceedings before the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) as well as advising on IP in transactions.
