New York: The jury was dismissed from Dewey & LeBoeuf case Songquan Deng

The three men on trial - former Dewey chairman Steven Davis, executive director Stephen DiCarmine and chief financial officer Joel Sanders - would face up to 25 years in jail if they were found guilty of the fraud charges they face. They had been charged on various counts relating to the representations they made to maintain funds to keep the firm afloat before it went into bankruptcy in 2012. They have already been found not guilty on some of the charges by the same jury.

Democracy

The judge told the jurors: 'You have played your part in one of the central institutions of democracy. This is no small thing.' Dewey & LeBoeuf had some 1,000 lawyers when it stopped business. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is considering asking for a retrial. Source: Legal Week
