Mr Daschle is himself leaving DLA Piper to set up the venture. It is being formed as a ‘policy affiliate’ of the 650-lawyer US practice Baker Donelson. The Daschle Group will operate both independently of Baker Donelson’s government relations and public policy group and in connection with it.
