Dubai: David Haigh's funds are frozen Elnur

It is expected that Stephenson Harwood, Olswang and local firm Nasser Mallala will no longer act for him. Mr Haigh stands accused of falsifying £3m of invoices in relation to the sale of Leeds FC. His ex- employer GFH Capital, former owner of Leeds FC, obtained a freezing order against him in 2014 through the law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. But that relationship is controversial, and Peter Gray - the Gibson Dunn partner involved - was suspended by Gibson Dunn in relation to another case. Mr Haigh has one last lawyer acting for him - Alun Jones QC who is representing him today in London. Mr Haigh brought an action against Peter Gray and two GFH employees, alleging that they trafficked him to Dubai where he was arrested. Source: The Lawyer
