London headquartered law firm Fieldfisher has entered into a partnership with a derivatives law firm in Belfast and is also considering a move into the Dublin legal market. Donaldson Legal Consulting (DLC) will work with the law firm to develop lower cost legal and documentation resources on work and projects generated by the Fieldfisher network. The move will give DLC access to markets across Europe as well as Shanghai and Silicon Valley. DLC has worked with Fieldfisher on a number of client projects through Fieldfisher's Condor Alternative Legal Solutions Playform which offers the firm's clients flexible and customable services. Whilst DLC will remain independent, it will become part of Condor, which backs up Field Fisher's banking and finance department and offers a range of services including document data management and technology solutions.
Dublin plans
The firm is also looking at the Irish capital to service a number of its clients which have moved there as a reaction to the Brexit vote. It will follow in the footsteps of a number of other law firms which have opened offices in Dublin, most recently Simmons & Simmons.
DLC
DLC was set up by ex-Clifford Chance derivatives lawyer Alison Donaldson in 2005 to provide specialist financial trading documentation, negotiation and associated services to financial institutions, corporations and asset managers. The 25 lawyer strong firm is based in Hollywood, close to Belfast.
