The amount of air travel has decreased by 12 per cent since the previous report - attributed to a reduction in the negotiation of global mergers. Part of the evidence for that comes from the fact that two firms involved in mergers recently, Herbert Smith Freehills and Norton Rose Fulbright, saw their flight emissions rise to represent more than 50% of the total. Emily Wilson, ALSA general manager, said: 'I was pleased to see that travel emissions are levelling. There have been increases in travel emissions in the last year or so, particularly associated with global mergers, so in the last year that increase has levelled ... and given there are still a few global mergers happening, [that] was a little bit surprising.'
