Legal AI platform Legora has signed up Hollywood star Jude Law to be the face of its new global brand campaign.
The firm’s latest promotion drive is to feature the actor in a campaign that has been labelled “Law just got more attractive”, designed to highlight the importance of AI in modern day legal work.
It is viewed as a new phase in Legora’s growth strategy, with the new campaign to be launched via multiple channels across key markets including in the UK, the US and the Nordics to further drive AI transformation in the legal industry.
Law, who has starred in renowned blockbusters including Enemy at the Gates, Road to Perdition and Steven Spielberg’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence, has featured in a near two-minute film for the campaign, directed by Saturday Night Live veteran Rhys Thomas.
Max Junestrand, CEO and co-founder of Legora, said that the firm believes that this is the “most exciting time in history” to be a lawyer.
He added: “AI is reshaping how legal work gets done, making it more collaborative and connected. This campaign reflects our ambition to lead that transformation together with our customers, and make law more attractive in the process.”
Law himself commented: “Legora asked me to be the new face of their brand. So when you see my face in the future, you can associate it with precise drafting, seamless collaboration and thorough research, powered by AI. Or, put simply: making law more attractive.”
Last week, Legora announced another major partnership with baseball team the New York Yankees, whose sports franchise was recently valued as the highest in Major League Baseball at $9bn by CNBC, alongside a link-up with one of the team’s most influential players Aaron Judge.
Last month, the company announced that it had sealed an agreement to purchase Canadian legal AI platform Walter AI to expand its presence in Canada, with Walter AI’s client list including Canadian law firms such as Fasken Martineau and McCarthy Tétrault.
The deal followed a $550m Series D funding round, which was spearheaded by venture capital firm Accel, along with existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and General Catalyst and new investors including Firstmark Capital and Menlo Ventures.
Stockholm-based Legora was co-founded three years ago by Junestrand alongside company president Sigge Labor and August Erseus. Junestrand previously worked for investment from Norrsken VC, and healthcare staffing AI platform Bemlo.
Labor co-established Mexican hop provider Groaltos before arriving at Legora, while Erseus spent a year at the research and development department at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and was a data scientist for two years at IT consultants Conmigo.
Earlier this month, Legora announced that it had surpassed the $100m mark in annual recurring revenue and now serves more than 1,000 customers.
Legal AI rival Harvey has also been seeking to expand its brand partnerships, signing up actor Gabriel Macht from the TV series Suits in addition to deals with football teams Paris Saint-Germain and Fulham, and golf tournament the US Open, according to Non-Billable.
