General counsel and chief legal officers from companies including HSBC, Bridgewater Associates and NBCUniversal have joined AI platform Harvey’s inaugural in-house customer advisory board.
The new advisory board mirrors a similar approach that Harvey deployed with law firms to help it refine its AI platform to better meet user needs.
Harvey is already used by more than 500 in-house legal teams globally, the company said. The advisory board will provide strategic input on Harvey’s products and insights on the future of the legal industry, and on where firms and companies can collaborate using AI at scale.
Members of the in-house advisory board include Alison Zoellner, group GC at Dentsu Group; Andrew Stephens, GC at MongoDB; Bob Hoyt, CLO at HSBC Holdings; Kamala Vasagam, chief counsel for global legal operations and innovation at NBCUniversal; Ray Geoffroy, GC at Koch; and Tracey Brady Yurko, CLO at Bridgewater Associates.
Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, said: “The leaders joining this advisory board aren’t just transforming their legal departments. They’re helping shape how AI is deployed responsibly across their organisations. We’re proud to partner with them as we build the future of AI-powered legal together.”
Harvey said it selected the group of legal leaders for perspective and impact, adding that each member operates at the forefront of their industry and has demonstrated a commitment to AI and innovation. All members are playing active roles in shaping AI adoption in their organisations and see legal as a strategic driver for their business.
Harvey said it chose a small, but highly-engaged group of legal leaders who represent a diverse range of industries, including banking, asset management, media, advertising, petrol and chemicals and data management.
Harvey says the next phase of AI transformation will be shaped by leaders who can connect legal expertise, business strategy and responsible AI deployment. The company said it marks the start of a broader advisory ecosystem that will grow over time, including other segments of the legal market.
Back in February 2024, GCs from companies including Microsoft, Ford and Anglo American joined forces with alternative legal services provider Factor to launch an initiative to promote generative AI use in corporate legal departments.
