Mr Justice C T Selvam, sitting in the Madras High Court, ordered that the Tamil site savukku.net be closed by Monday, March 10. He was hearing a petition by an advocate who had been mentioned on the site. The order 'has indeed created furore among human rights activists and lawyers alike', according to India Today. Advocate P Sundarajan said: 'This order is nothing but a mockery of justice.  Social media is a medium of the voiceless and an attack on it is nothing but an attack on freedom of expression and democracy. Tomorrow, some other judge may pass an order to shut down a magazine or a newspaper or a publication. Can we allow this?' Source: India Today
