Berg, founded in 1980 by Reuben Berg, specialised in banking and finance, commercial disputes, employment, real estate, and corporate and commercial matters. Mr Berg, who was senior partner at Berg, and Alison Loveday, formerly CEO at Berg, join Kennedys as partners together with their team, doubling the size of Kennedys’ UK commercial practice. The firm’s global commercial practice currently operates throughout the Americas, Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions.
Global infrastructure
Mr Berg commented: 'Having established Berg as one of the leading commercial litigation firms in the UK, we are excited and looking forward to working as part of a global infrastructure that provides exceptional advice and service to its clients, without compromising our imaginative approach.'
Strategic growth
Nick Thomas, senior partner at Kennedys, says: 'I am delighted that Reuben, Alison, and their team have joined Kennedys. They come with an excellent reputation, serving businesses and entrepreneurs in key sectors including property development, technology, leisure, healthcare and education. This has been a strategic growth area for Kennedys and we are very pleased to be further growing our presence in the North West with a distinctive commercial offering.' This year Kennedys has opened offices in Melbourne and Mexico City, created a formal association in Italy, a merger with US law firm Carroll McNulty & Kull and and seven lateral partner hires. Kennedys announced eight per cent revenue growth for the 2016/17 period, up from £138.8m to £149.9m.
