Law firms invited to compete for £500m United Utilities business

Law firms have been invited to tender for a contract worth up to £500 million as United Utilities forges ahead with a multi-billion pound water network investment.

Firms are being sought to advise the company on its 2015-20 capital investment programme amidst far reaching regulatory changes in the water industry.The work will include advice for the  FTSE listed utility operator on the design, building and operation of its water network and future proofing its services. Addleshaw Goddard, Eversheds Sutherland and Slaughter and May had previously advised the company. Simon Gardiner, who is general counsel and company secretary,  heads up the company’s inhouse legal team.
