US law firms have seen productivity decline as lawyers have less to do Lee Reitz

Productivity in US law firms is down, with lawyers not having enough work to keep them busy. Only corporate and real estate departments saw an increase last year  whilst tax, litigation and insolvency lawyers have seen a decrease in their activity. According to Citi Private Bank's end of year predictions, productivity declined half a per cent whilst 2016 will see little signs of growth. The bank predicted that growth would be in low single-digit figures. It also pointed out that law firms are turning to partners for operating cash rather than banks.
