The rise from four to 23 lawyers is ‘alarming’, according to Daniel Bogden, US attorney for the state of Nevada, who published the statistics as part of his annual report. He wrote: ‘Although we cannot speculate as to the reason for the rise in numbers we can say that it is embarrassing and sad when lawyers violate the very laws they have taken an oath to uphold.’
Living above thier means
Thomas Pitaro, a criminal defence lawyer, commented: ‘I think there are very few attorneys who steal for the hell of it. It’s systematic of other problems—drugs, alcohol, gambling and living above their means.’ Source: ABA
