At least 80 people died in the tragedy and Ms Abbott has now said that victims are being hounded by lawyers all fighting to represent them in potential future legal actions. She sent an email sent to the Law Society and the Bar Council, saying ‘ambulance chasing is disgraceful and should not be tolerated in any circumstance’. The news comes shortly after Leigh Day came under attack for the aggressive marketing for business at the site by two of its paralegals who were suspended and who ultimately resigned.
Suspension
Ms Abbott said. ‘We are aware that two paralegals have been suspended following such allegations and I had initially believed that this was the end of the matter…However, complaints have persisted and I offered to send this letter in an attempt to ensure that those affected by this have support and a voice where their concerns are raised at the highest level.’ In reaction the Law Society has advised victims seeking legal advice to contact North Kensington Law Centre.
