Several partners who spoke to the publication cited the drop in compensation as one of their reasons for leaving. At Edwards Wildman, revenue had fallen over six per cent in 2014, with some partner draws that year paying out more than warranted by earnings. those who were overpaid are said to have received a memo saying that the debt would be forgiven if they stayed with the firm for two years.
