Announcing a 30 per cent rise in profits in the year to 31 May, chief executive Kenneth Shand said in The Scotsman: ‘I would say we are looking at [consolidation] and we are open minded about it. We absolutely haven’t ruled it out…There are different ways in which we can achieve that, including large scale mergers or bolting on teams.’
Turnover up
The legal landscape in Scotland has been transformed recently as its largest law firm, Dundas & Wilson, merged into international firm CMS Cameron McKenna a few months back and Glasgow-based McGrigors merged into Pinsents in 2012. Maclay Murray increased its turnover 7.3 per cent to £43.3m in the year to 31 May. Source: The Scotsman
