General counsel need to prove their business acumen if they aspire to influence in their companies with metrics key to proving results. Chicago biopharmaceutical company AbbVie's director of legal operations, Sam Ranganathan, told Bloomberg that his company had made considerable savings having used metrics to assess whether to conduct e-discovery inhouse or externally. This year's GC Futures Summit will shed light on how to prove value through metrics. Based on the results of research by Acritas where more than 1,000 legal departments across the world shared the metrics they currently use, a best practice model was created and developed through consultation with an advisory board of senior in-house counsel. ASOS general counsel Andrew Magowan formed part of that advisory board and will share his experiences of working with the metrics and how important metrics are to the way he manages the legal function in his company. A limited number of places are available for in-house lawyers. For further information email [email protected].
