Skins - which supplied the US cycling team with race suits for the London Olympics – claims UCI is responsible for a ‘total loss of confidence’ in professional cycling, reports the Financial Times newspaper.
'Risk of scandals'
In a letter to the governing body, Skins said: ‘Skins was under the illusion that professional cycling had been fundamentally reformed to contain doping and minimise the risk of scandals with which the brand of any sponsor could be associated.’
Mr Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France victories and banned from cycling for life following a US Anti-Doping Agency report.
The UCI itself is seeking to haul in as much as $3m from Mr Armstrong, asking him to return his Tour de France prize money.
