Brant David Kostandoff, who worked for Toronto-based Vision until 2007, lost his licence for several reasons including: creating and distributing a false affidavit and a falsified shareholders’ agreement; misleading his employer; signing for the company’s chairman and chief executive rather than circulating documents for proper execution and accepting money for false expense claims.
Resigned
The Canadian Lawyer Magazine reports that Mr Kostandoff – a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada until December 2007 – reported himself to the society and also resigned from the network. He has not worked as a lawyer since.
In an affidavit provided to the law society hearing panel in July, Kostandoff stated: ‘I have no intention of returning to the practice of law in Ontario or any other jurisdiction.’
Mr Kostandoff – who was previously a senior associate at Mills & Mills in Toronto -- was also ordered to pay costs of CA$12,132 ($12,400).
