In his new role Mr Cobb will oversee the legal and media response to the investigation into allegations of Russian interference and Trump campaign collusion in the Presidential election.Mr Cobb is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers with a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

The appointment comes as Trump's family faces increased scrutiny following news that Donald Trump Jr met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign in attempts to secure information to damage the Clinton campaign.
