US law firms lag behind on work-life balance

A survey of lawyers working in the UK has found that US law firms appear to respect the work-life balance of employees significantly less than indigenous practices.

Among employees of UK-based US firms, some 70% of respondents to a survey conducted by Lawyer 2B said that their senior managers ‘didn’t really’ encourage the maintenance of work-life balance. In comparison, only 29% of lawyers at Magic Circle firms gave that reply and only 46% of those working at other large law firms. Source: The Lawyer
