But, like DLA Piper and Squire Patton Boggs, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld gave more heavily to Democratic candidates. Most law firms in the list of the top 20 legal donors have favoured the Democrats, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. But two of the top 20 broke that pattern and gave only to the Republicans. They are Boies Schiller & Flexner and Kirkland & Ellis.
