His aim is to introduce a political reform bill, the Citizens Equality Bill. This would include various changes, such as automatic voter registration, a public holiday on voting days and a multiple voting system for Congress, which would end the simple winner-takes-all system and replace it with one in which voters ranked candidates in much larger constituencies than the existing ones. Professor Lessig plans to resign and hand over to his deputy once he has won passage of the bill, though is yet to announce his vice presidential running mate.
Government that works
He said: 'We have to recognize - we have a government that does not work. ... And we have to find a way to elevate the debate to focus on the changes that would actually get us a government that could work again, that is not captured by the tiniest fraction of the 1 per cent.' Source: ABA
