German law firm GLNS will set up the new office in London in September. It is the first overseas office for the firm which is based in Munich and will be managed by corporate partner Daniel Gubitz. 'We have already been thinking about establishing a second office to expand our business for a long time,' says partner Tobias Nikoleyczik. 'Our decision in favour of a new office in London was based on strategic reasons, as many of our clients are located there.'
Investors
Danel Gubitz said that the firm opted for London as 'Many important private equity and venture capital investors are based in London and will remain there in the future. We are aware that especially in these areas, there is substantial demand for our business model of a highly specialised transaction boutique. Our litigation business as well as the representation of hedge funds and activist shareholders also concentrate on London.'
Formula E
In Germany, the firm most recently advised AUDI on its entry to the electronic racing series Formula E. Daniel Gubitz and Tobias Nikoleyczik advised on the transactions. Since its foundation in 2012, GLNS has advised AUDI on various M&A transactions, for example AUDI’s participation in FC Ingolstadt 04, as well as on corporate and capital markets law matters.
